Time Drill
5 Min Active Stretching
  • Orange Ball Ground ball into X v X
10 Min 4 Person Box Passing
  • Two Balls and 4 players
  • Create a box about 10 yards, have one player in the middle
  • One player passes to the middle, the other 3 players go to a free cone, can go diagonal
  • 10 times for each player
  • Go dominant hand and then non-dominant


5 Min Partner one hand passing
  • 2.5 minutes per hand
  • One hand 2/3 way down stick, turn your shoulder, hand up high
  • Make a pass and throw back
10 Min Alley Shooting Drill
10 Min London Bridge Drill

  • 3 players
  • low, scoop through, protect stick
  • 1 person is ground ball, 2nd person builds bridge, for person to go under, 3rd person tries to stick check


10 Min Down low rollback and pass to shooter across
  • 3 cones, 2 on one side, pickup a GB, dodge from GLE on cone 1
  • Run up the alley to the 2nd cone, rollback (two steps away from pressure) and pass across the field to the 3rd cone and shooter
  • Shooter quick release shot (not power)


10 Min Salisbury Beckman Bucket Shooting Drill
Salisbury Beckman Bucket Drill
  • No goalie and line kids up a little behind GLE about 10 yards out on either side of the goal
  • Put two buckets about 2 yards apart in front of the goal 10 yards out
  • Put balls at the feet of each line
  • Kid runs from one line in (1) an arc towards to first bucket and receives a pass (2)
  • He then steps past the 2nd bucket and shoots on the run to the opposite triangle in the goals netting (4)
  • The player at (3) awaits to run towards the next bucket and shoots with the outside hand



10 Min Marquette Fade Shooting

Drill to teach guys to back pedal as the ball carrier is coming towards them. three parts to the drill. This is another aspect of the two man game.

  • Phase 1: Back Pedal Fade Shooting - two lines top of the box, alternating where the ball starts
    • One line starts with the ball, the other line moves towards the ball carrier for purpose of drill
    • Back pedal receive shot, step down and shoot. Make sure you are in different areas of the field
  • Phase 2: Back Pedal Split Shooting - Same as above, but split and go down the opposite alley, shoot with the stick to the outside
  • Phase 3: Back Pedal Give and Go - Same as above, but the passer, after passing goes to the goal and shoots




10 Min Mule Drill

This is a 4v4 drill which incorporates GB, 4v4, and Lock Off Drill

  • Put a goalie in cage
  • Divide kids evenly into two different colors
  • Place 1 of each color at the 4 corners
  • Roll a ball and a 1v1 GB happens, whoever wins the GB is on offense
  • The 3 off ball defense "lock on" their man. This forces the 3 other offensive players to work hard at getting open
  • Each of the 4 offensive players must touch the ball before going to cage
  • Offense must look to set picks and work together to get open
  • Make it competitive, offense gets 2 points for scoring, defense gets 1 for stopping play


10 Min Steal the Bacon

  • No rakes, slapping sticks, only scooping through and keeping the ball moving forward. You lose if you do bad things
  • Divide the team into two groups (Dark and Light)
  • Have the lineup in the restraining line on either side of the box in a single file line
  • Coach has the balls in the middle of the field
  • Put a goalie in the cage
  • Coach calls out two numbers (2 and 2) and two guys go from each line
  • Coach can call 1 v 1, 2 v 1, 3 v 2, etc
  • The coach rolls out the ball and they compete, whoever gets the ball goes to score
  • Keep score and keep it competitive.
