Time Drill
5 Min Active Stretching
7 Min Two Laps
10 Min Saint Drill - Two over the shoulder passes each time a player goes (go all right handed, then all left handed)
    • Start with 4 lines 15-20 yards on each side of the middle of the goal and top of the box
    • Two Goalies in the middle of both lines
    • balls start down low, passes to same side high, passes to the goalie, runs up field catches from goalie over

10 Min Clears run through
  • Run Stacked and Butter Clears full field
    • Goalie look for the guy on our team, whose man just shot, that guy should be breaking out to his position on stacked
    • Goalie/Defense move the ball forward early and fast
    • Once the ball goes over the mid line, look for the slow break through X (most of the time)

10 Min Crossfire Passing

A good drill to reinforce two passes and 2 man game

  • Create a square about 15 yards by 15 yards
  • Have 4 kids per team for a total of 8 players
  • For each team, put 2 guys on the outside and 2 guys in the inside
  • The outside guys are on opposite sides of the square and cannot go inside the square
  • The inside guys are free to roam in the middle area
  • Start with the ball on the outside, make a pass or two into the middle and then to the other side
  • If through the middle and out the other side, you gain one point
  • If the ball is loose in the middle players fight for the ball
  • If the ball rolls out, it starts with the team on the line where the ball goes out
  • Try to string together multiple points

10 Min 3 on 3 Add One Back Cut Drill
  • http://www.laxpower.com/laxnews/news.php?story=31679&page=1
  • 3 defenders and 4 offense
  • 2 lines defenders on one side of GLE, 1 on the other. 3 lines of attack behind the goal, 1 line at the midline
  • The drill begins with a ground ball or a pass, and we play 3v3 for 5 to 10 seconds. Then the coach might yell out, "add one," and the fourth offensive player enters the drill, usually from the back of the defenders.
  • We play to a shot. On a shot or save, we immediately clear and then begin the drill again with new players.
  • Alternative is to run from the top by switching the placement of the lines.

15 Min Continuous 3v2 with Swaxlax
10 Min Surface Read Drill
  • No Sticks
  • Line of guys, with a coach and then 4 cones with 2 players
  • Coach hits with pad, makes the player move around
  • 4 cones make 3 lanes, 2 players block quickly two of the routes
  • Player cuts and makes the right choice
  • Sprints 20 yards
30 Min 6 v 6 with Missions
  • Coaches give up to 3 phases of missions to the players
  • Offense example: Phase 1: Run tango, phase 2: two man game at x with timed cutting, phase 3: hawk
  • Defense example: Phase 1: Amigo (3 man press), Phase 2: Long pole heavy on the ball, Phase 3: Double Early
  • Goal is to throw different looks at both the offense and defense to see how they react and execute
