Time Drill
5 Min Active Stretching
10 Min Two Man Passing Down Field

  • Have all the kids line up in two lines on one side of the field
  • One line has a ball, each pair of kids is partnered up
  • Have the kids run down the field, catching and throwing in pairs, making sure they are catching and throwing with their stick in the direction they are running
  • If a player misses the ball, the partner should follow to close the gap for passing
10 Min 2 Man Stutter Out Step Down
  • 4 lines, grouped into sets of 2
  • Lines are along the alley's, with outside man running towards a cone about 20 feet from goal
  • 1st guy stutter steps, back pedals out
  • Throws the ball to the second man coming down the lane, who receives the ball and step down shoots


5 Min Water
10 Min Motion Offense
  • Talk about sets - how many guys in the crease
    • 3-2-1 = "zero"
    • 2-3-1 = "one"
    • 1-4-1 = "two"
20 Min Triangle Play
  • 3-2-1
  • Draw on the board
10 Min 6 on 6
  • Run Play
10 Min 5 Man Clear into 3v2

Teaches clearing the ball and transitions into 3v2

  • Need 5 players and a goalie
  • Setup 3 cones near the midfield line, 2 at the hash marks 1 in the center
  • 2 Players are at the hash mark at GLE, 3 players are on the cones up top.
  • Goalie clears to a GLE side, then pass to hash midfield side, then the middle
  • As soon as the ball is in the middle, the drill turns into 3v2
  • Midfield players play on offense vs 2 defenders
  • Variation: Have the defense clearing redirect it via a 40 yard pass across the field or back to the goalie
