10 Min No Second Chances Ground Balls

Often times a player gets a first chance at a ground ball while unchallenged, but they often fail to field it cleanly and that is when the crowd joins in.

  • Partner up with one ball, a chaser and receiver
  • Coach rolls out the ball, receiver runs for it, chaser chases after 1 second
  • The receiver does not look back, he runs straight for the ball
  • Chaser attempts to poke or lift check the receiver when he is scooping
  • The receiver has to adjust his body to protect the back hand
  • The receiver runs to daylight and passes back to coach
  • If the chaser successfully disrupts the scoop he should box out and flick the ball to open space and then get the ground ball

10 Min Crossfire Passing

A good drill to reinforce two passes and 2 man game

  • Create a square about 15 yards by 15 yards
  • Have 4 kids per team for a total of 8 players
  • For each team, put 2 guys on the outside and 2 guys in the inside
  • The outside guys are on opposite sides of the square and cannot go inside the square
  • The inside guys are free to roam in the middle area
  • Start with the ball on the outside, make a pass or two into the middle and then to the other side
  • If through the middle and out the other side, you gain one point
  • If the ball is loose in the middle players fight for the ball
  • If the ball rolls out, it starts with the team on the line where the ball goes out
  • Try to string together multiple points

10 Min Stacked Sliding Drill
  • Make it 5 guys in the middle and 6 guys outside
10 Min Offense Time Kill

Use a stopwatch and have the offense in a 6 v 6 situation kill time. Players should pop-out for passes, run around behind x, and keep it in the box. Defense can work on shutting off adjacents, doubling, and trying to take the ball away.

10 Min Ladders, GB, dodging on cones
20 Min 6 v 6, Numbers, West Genny
