Long Pole Breakout Drill
The purpose of this drill is to combine some footwork drills with a breakout for a clear, and to teach a long pole what to do when he's in trouble on the clear.
- Have a coach act as a goalie
- Put a ladder to the left or right of the goal
- 3 cones out in a line where you want the kid to banana cut
- two cones further up the field in a line
- The player runs through the ladder, banana cuts around the 3 cones
- Calls for the ball and catches a pass from the goalie
- Face dodges the first cone up the field, then fakes the 2nd cone, then rolls back and passes back to the coach in the middle of the field
