Goalie Step Drills
In this drill we practice the 3 different types of steps goalies do (arcs, step diagonally forward, lateral step).
- Coach uses balls in 3 different stations
- Station 1: Place 5 balls in a zig zag pattern about 1.5-2 feet apart
- Station 2: Place 4 balls in a 6 foot arc
- Station 3: Place 4 balls along a line on the field (2 feet apart)
Goalie practices steps through each station placing stick by ball on each. Between each ball, goalie resets and drives to the next ball. Goalie goes left to right on all 3 stations.
